My name is Dr. Gera Nelson

I am the Director of The Education Graduate Program and an Assistant Professor here at Lindsey Wilson College

I have over 23 years experience teaching P-12 in different public schools, and 6 years teaching Post-secondary education. I am originally from Brazil, but have lived in the United States for the last 28 years. In addition to my native Portuguese, I speak English, Spanish and Cebuano (South Central Philippines).

I hold a BA in Journalism from FAFI University in Brazil; an ESOL Endorsement from Valdosta State University; a Masters degree in Middle Grades Education (Language arts and Social Studies) from Georgia Southwestern University; and a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and instruction (Literacy concentration) from Georgia Southern University.

As an instructor I am fully committed to all my students' academic and intellectual growth. As your partner in education, I welcome your questions, constructive criticism and suggestions.
